Welcome to my site

I have had a passion for photography ever since I first picked up my Dad's old camera with a light-meter and manual shutter on it. I was hooked instantly and although I couldn't afford the equipment at first, I started to experiment as best I could. More recently, with the arrival of Digital SLR's, came the ability to more or less instantly see the effects of using different film speeds, f-stops, focal lengths, exposure and lots more besides. Photography was suddenly available to all.

I have taken many photographs over the years and have experimented on many of them with digital imaging techniques. I want to share my images with family and friends and get feedback on what's good, and what's not, what you like, and what you don't like. This site, and the content within it, is the result of the digital age, the passion I have for imagery and my desire to share this with you all.

Gone are the days when a photograph is simply the capture of an instant in time. In today's digital age, a photograph has become so much more than that. The images that we capture are, more often than not, altered in some way before being presented to the viewer, so that they represent what the photographer or artist wants the viewer to see, instead of what was captured in the moment. It's why, above all, my passion is focused on portrait images. No matter what you do to the image itself, it is virtually impossible to alter the human expression captured in the blink of an eye. An image that is enhanced to improve it's presentation can not alter what was captured in an expression.

My aim when producing imagery is to capture precious moments in time and to present them in a way that makes viewing all the more pleasurable. I hope you enjoy the site and visit it often to share these moments with me.
